KING SEJONG- my hero
CHOI
King Sejong was the fourth king in period of the Yi dynasty. He made Hangul which consists of 24 letters. Before he made Hangul, he really wanted to change the Korean language, because in olden times Korea was dominated by Chinese culture. The Chinese language was very difficult for people to understand each other’s opinions. It is also difficult to describe their thinking. Therefore Sejong wanted to solve their problems. After they used Hangul, it could make people think that Korean is an independent nation. In addition, in order to the generalization of Hangul, he permitted that civil servants chould drink alcohol and he made a song by himself using Hangul.
